Win or Die
House Tully of Riverrun
Riverrun is a strong three-sided castle, although not especially large, situated at the point where the Tumblestone and Red Fork rivers meet. A moat on the third side of the castle can be flooded to leave it practically unassailable. The Tullys were never kings but were the chief leaders of the rebel riverlords who deserted Harren the Black and joined Aegon the Conqueror and so were rewarded with overlordship of the lands watered by the Trident. Their motto is, “Family, Duty, Honor.”
A year ago the head of House Tully, Kermit, was manipulated by a priest of R’hllor, Lord of Light, into joining House Blackfyre. The Red Priest, Ra’jal, claimed to see parallels in Daemon Blackfyre’s attempts to conquer Westeros to the original Targaryen’s conquest of the continent. Convincing Kermit that all things are cyclical and that House Tully should back Daemon fully or else be left behind when he takes the crown.
Unfortunately this did not happen. When the rebellion was put down, House Tully’s members were spread throughout the realm. Some members managed to flee, some were caught and some were killed in combat. Kermit managed to buy the lives of those family members detained but not his own. He was executed while those remaining Tullys imprisoned sit in a dungeon to this day. As with the other two great houses who joined House Blackfyre, a Targaryen garrison holds Riverrun where a governor is working with the minor lords of the Riverlands.
